Appropriate application methods attempt to maximize desired effects and minimize the undesired side effects.

Sub-lingual – Under your tongue

Taking CBD drops / tincture under your tongue provides the most rapid onset of action. The CBD is readily absorbed into the bloodstream and this is a perfect alternative to smoking or vaporizing. Within minutes approx. 15, a patient can feel the effects of the CBD. Dose control is very precise, as it is measure per drop the patient administers under the tongue. The drops should be held under your tongue for 30-60 seconds before swallowing. The CBD is rapidly absorbed into your arterial system and then transported to your brain and body.

Oral Ingestion – Tea / Honey / any other infusion that you can eat or drink

When using this method you will notice that the effects tale longer to notice, but also last longer.

When ingesting CBD it must first pass through your entire digestive tract before getting absorbed into the bloodstream. This will take 30 minutes or more depending on your metabolism to notice the effects it is having on your body. The dosage for ingestion is higher than if you would vaporize or take the CBD sub-lingually – BUT it does last longer, therefore you have to medicate less often. You will need to do a little experimentation as to what dosage works best for you.

There are many ways to medicate with edible CBD. Cookies, cakes, hot drinks, smoothies anything you can think of really.

Topical – Balm, oils and cream

Therapeutic principle – to apply medication as close to the source of the problem as possible.

Applying CBD topically on your skin at the direct site of discomfort provides immediate localized relief. Your skin is your body's largest organ – CB1 receptors are found in sweat glands, hair follicles and of course on your skin and this is how we can treat skin disorders, joint and muscle pain, inflammation, allergies, dry skin and encourage your skin to heal faster and fight infection at the site of a wound as CBD is also an anti-septic.

Smoke / vaporize – Just breathe in

Using a vaporizer is a very effective way of getting all the benefits of CBD, without having to smoke it. A vaporizer will heat the CBD flower or oil to just the right temperature to extract its useful compounds. You will inhale its vapor instead of its smoke and also reduce the harmful risk of smoking.

When treating a condition you should always choose the most effective method.

Skin disorders – a skin cream or balm is preferred over an oral dos
Internal issues eg. Intestinal problems – an oral dose is preferred
For acute conditions – inhalation is used for immediate relief and treatment
